Pop singer Samantha Mumba was born on January 18, 1983 in Dublin, Ireland. Her beloved father, Peter Mumba, is a Zambian aircraft engineer while her mother has Irish origins. Being a young girl Mumba was interested in music. The charming creature tried to write own songs and she didn't fail to create interesting ditties. She attended Dublin's Billie Barry Stage School. In 1998 the 'singing' girl was cast as the lead in one jazzy production. That performance brought her fame and fans because her voice was treated magic. When she was 15 Mumba was completely discovered on television talent show. Her future manager Louis Walsh was really impressed by Samantha's talent so the singer was signed to Polydor Records. The girl had been touring for several months visiting Sweden, the UK and Denmark. Her debut album 'Gotta Tell You' brought her success in Ireland and UK, then she became famous in the USA and all over the world. Amazingly the album 'Gotta Tell You' was on the top of the charts for 6 months and suddenly was certified platinum. Just imagine - one million copies were sold. Then her fans were mad about Samantha's 'Baby Come On Over' track. All her records were sold in a relatively short time and it means she's one of the best Irish pop singer of her times.
